thedad
I recently purchased a certified used 2015 Legacy 2.5i Limited. After getting it home I noticed a gap in the rear door molding on both sides. See the pictures below. The dealership says this is normal and not a manufacturing flaw. What do you find on your own Subaru? Thanks.
thedad
As a follow up, the 2016 Outback appears to have a rubber corner pieces glued over similar gaps. Edited November 16, 2016 by thedad
Fairtax4me
Welcome to the forum! That does look to be "normal" to me. It may be there for a reason, such as to allow water to drain. I think seeing that every time I open the door would bother me though, as it does look incomplete. That's the kind of thing I would fill in with body seam sealer and use touch up paint to cover. But I have seam sealer already from other projects. Clear silicone would be a less expensive option.
gregB
What about sourcing the parts from the 2016 year?
