I would like to join up. I'll even be down for the long drive if you guys come up with a proper* place to go wheeling.

*By proper, I mean a place where the 2X's wouldn't make it. ;)

But, at any rate, I'd sport a sticker or magnet to help advertise.

Am in as well, and still fighting with our scanner (we need a driver) so I can send in the pic for all to see on a logo, But I would need everyones oppinion too. I need to buy larger disk to transfer the driver to the computer that has the scanner.

Talk to ya'll soon

I'm in,

But remember, an actual organized club is kind of a hassle. There are Presidents and Treasurers and Secrataries........

It's a lot of work. I'm all for us staying together and having some fun.

I was actually thinking of a get together at Rock Creek Camp just east of Vancouver. They have a large covered picnic area and lots of good camp sites. From there, there are hundreds of miles of logging roads to run, I need to do a little serious Recon but I think we could even find some more severe stuff to play in. Sysco might even know of some good places right off hand.

I'll keep thinking on it.

Well is the Hatch patrol a offical Club ? Like I-Club is ?

I dont know But I really don't think so, I was just thinking of a club for the port/vanc area that we could put a sticker or banner on our cars showing this is where we are from, and to let others know we are interested in the older Gen 1 and gen 2 cars by subaru and would help others notice when you see a nice looking 80' s soob around town that it is one of the guys on the board or not.

I really looking forward to a club like this :D :D :D

That does sound fun.

I've got Cars up on blocks, Chickens and a pack of hounds (really). We could be the "Southern Hatch Patrol"

"Just Some Good Ole' Boys.............

Never Meanin' No Harm................."

This is my opinion. And I guess maybe I am just thinking out loud. Not ment to offend anyone.

First, I only saw one off-road vehicle. So focusing ONLY on off-roading would be silly.

Second, the name that was suggested, was BRAT PACK. Out of the 15-20ish cars there, only 2 were Brats. I think this name would be decieving to people who own Subarus that might want to join.

I think our focus should be Subarus. Particularly the older models, 73-89. Though all Subaru owners would be invited.

Something like:

Portland-Vancouver Subaru club. (better name could be found) But for a mission:

Dedicated to the Perserving, Driving and Off-Roading of Subaru Vehicles.

i am trying to find a club to join and to have some off-road fun with my soobie. the engine has 235k and runs like new. it is however a 4wd wagon an 83. i did have two earlier brats. one was a 78 the other a 79 but being tall as i am 6'4 i felt like a monkey molesting a football. the 83 wagon fits me well. if i could join this group i would at a heartbeat. please let me know. thankyou, donn

Richie the term for the Brat pack was not ment to be just for the brats in the club (like hatch patrol, does not mean you have to have a hatch back or a wagon) Brat pack stands more for the image we all give, We are not Honda's, nor are we Jeeps or Toyota's, Big beefy Fords or Chevy's,

No we stand alone in this class

I would love to see more names offered but no one has offered many, And my wife has drawn out a symbol but our scanner is hooked up yet so you all can see it.

Anyway that's my oppinion,

PS Richie, My soobs were not at the meet 80'Brat, 80' wagon

82' wagon and 86' XT

by the way Subarumaniac We all welcome you to come and hand with the club with no name in the portland/vancouver area or anyone sooby fan on this board.

A personal hello from the King

As of right now only 8 people have shown interest. There have got to be more people speak up.

And BTW Will, older board members know that Hatch Patrol was named that because the 3 founding members ALL drove lifted Hatches, and thus they were dubbed Hatch Patrol.

PS Will, these are the subarus that I didn't bring. 84 4x4 Wagon, 86 Hatch 4x4(pristine), 84 Turbo BRAT, 82 BRAT, 84 Turbo Coupe, (2) 86 XT Turbos, 98 Legacy Wagon, 92 Legacy Sedan, 88 Turbo Wagon, am I missing any? I forget. :rollin:

ow 87 RX Coupe and 88 RX Sedan. I forgot

I've been interested in this post but haven't posted because it seems you guys don't really have a direction. A club shouldn't be about what cars you have and someone else doesn't. It should be about having something in common.

Yes, The Hatch Patrol was named that because 4 of us showed up together for the WCSS and 3 of us were diving hatches. But, that isn't/wasn't what we stood for. Before we took off with the HP we sat down and had a meeting. A meeting where agendas were set. Expectations were expressed.

I think your emphasis seems to be on the older Subes. But you have also stated the fact that all Subes should be allowed. That being stated, how does the Oregon Subaru Club or Por/Van Subaru club sound? It states where you're from. It doesn't have any exclusions by name and would suggest any Subaru is accepted. Alot is said by a clubs name. Pick yours and be proud of it.

Find a focal point(a leader), a purpose and many people wll follow.

If a club is actually started I'd be interested in joining, even if it's just to get a cool sticker for my car. I think organization is good, but no one should have to quit their job to run the club. And I vote for all subies to be included. I have a '91 Loyale and have no intention of going 4x4in' in it.

It would be very fun to exchange ideas about our passion, and get support in the quest for more speed, higher lift, smoother ride, louder stereo, whatever...
