Might have time for an off-road drive this time in C'Springs . But, I have no mods and will be on all-seasons. Just wondering if there's anything for flatlanders that might get them a little more rugged scenery , without needing a winch or a shovel or a buddy with recovery straps.

Not that I, personally, wouldn't love an adventure - but the wife would like to keep her car greasy side down - and we need it to drive back to Tejas.

Hey 1LT...I thought just about ALL of CO west of Denver was scenic to a Texan....and even to this NW resident (spent a couple ski bummin' seasons in the area). I believe Pikes Peak is now paved, so not much adventure in that, but still is likely worth a trip up....depending on snow.

Have fun,

TD

  • 3 weeks later...

went up Rampart Range Rd. a few miles - awesome views, easy drive though surface very rough(wonder if dropping 3-4 pounds from the tires would help?). But, I saw no ruts or wash-outs. Went in the middle of the week, saw 4 other vehicles.

highly recommended - hoping to go farther next time I visit.
