bigpig Posted March 16, 2018 Share Posted March 16, 2018 Hey folks, I have a just purchased 2001 outback legacy wagon L.L. Bean edition. It has the am/fm radio with cassette and six cd changer on the bottom of the head unit. Radio will not work. I have disconnected the battery and pumped the brakes to reset ecm. Radio buttons will light up with parking light on and the cd player will load and eject cds. Whats my next step to try? GeneralDisorder Posted March 16, 2018 Share Posted March 16, 2018 For about $100 you can get a head unit and adapter harness, etc that will be light years ahead of that ancient junk. Bushwick Posted March 18, 2018 Share Posted March 18, 2018 Yeah, aftermarket has come a long way in the past 20 years. I remember the 1st CD players for cars would skip driving over seam cracks in the road. Potholes would cause a 5 sec cut. Too much bass and CD would skip Nowadays we have usb sticks, CD readers that can play w/o issue hitting rough train tracks at 40 mph, and phones connecting wirelessly.
