sirtokesalot Posted June 6, 2018 Share Posted June 6, 2018 will the steering wheel from a 2003 ll bean outback fit and work in my 1998 outback? i know i can swap the cruise stalk so that connector will be correct and i can wire the horn to work but will the air bag from that year work with my system? sirtokesalot Posted June 6, 2018 Author Share Posted June 6, 2018 (edited) anyone know? the only thing im really curious about is the airbag. i dont want to plug the newer airbag in and have it go off when i reconnect the battery or set the light on the dash. the only reason i want to change the wheel is to have that nice looking wood wheel. the 98 wheel is ugly. sirtokesalot Posted June 10, 2018 Author Share Posted June 10, 2018 more afraid now i checked out what i have vs the new wheel and the air bad connectors are different. now will there be any harm if i were to cut the connectors off and solder them to the airbag that fits the new wheel? would the newer airbag work in the older model?
