Eric Freudenthal
I transplanted a ej22 from a naturally aspirated 1992 legacy into my vanagon. My vanagon didn't have ac and now I'm building an AC for it. To keep it easy to maintain, the new system will be r134a. My question: the legacy had R12 coolant. what compressor should I obtain that will be appropriate for r134a, and fit my motor. Nuisance considerations: will I need to modify or replace the compressor mounts and 4-notch drive pulley, and alternator mounts? Thanks, Eric
el_freddo
Just use the AC compressor that came with the EJ or get a later model Subaru AC compressor. With the compressor you have all you need is the r134a valve fittings and you're set. Cheers Bennie
