adding the cargo outlet in 2007 impreza wagon base model

Recommended Posts

has anyone instaleld the 12v accessory power outlet/cig lighter in the cargo area of the 06-07 wagon?

im riding a 2007 impreza wagon 2.5i, the base model, no heated seats, nothin, the most basic model there is.

I'm going camping soon and Ill need another power outlet in the trunk.

what I know/have done:
I figured out the wiring was already there under the right side of the trunk, under the trim. directly opposite of where the jack would be. I looked up higher model imprezas like the 2007 impreza outback sport, and it has an extra power outlet with a lamp in the trunk. Ive also seen some really old posts on nasioc about how to do this, so i figured out was that in order to properly power the cargo outlet, you need relays and fuses in the interior fuse box under the driver's side dashboard.

What I realized, is that the posts I saw were not base model wagons, and that my model will not even take in the fuse I need for the cargo outlet because the base models literally have no "extra features". I do want to avoid this, but it seems that I need to buy a whole relay block with the correct fuse holder off a higher model impreza in order for this to work...

anyone have any ideas,suggestions?

thanks

does your model have the trailer light harness? maybe there's a way to use that?

this is what it looks like, under that trim I mentioned. the longer wire in the middle is meant for a cig lighter so i dont think I need to play around with any other wire unless you meant something else.

but the second pic is where the problem might be, the right fourth spot of the fuse holder won't take the required 20amp fuse (meaning there's no circuit inside to hold the fuse) to power that middle long cable for the cig lighter, meaning that I just might not be able to do this at all...but im not sure.
