Dirtbagsubie Posted September 14, 2018 Share Posted September 14, 2018 I pulled the ac components. I did timing belts, water pump and plugs and wires. The car was running before doing this. I did not change timing at all from what it was. It has a weber carb on it. I can now start the car with gas fully depressed. It will only idle while like that. If I let off the car dies. Did you turn the crank 1 full turn between installing the 2 belts? #2 double check the plug wires. When it runs, is it really rough? 1 Lucky Texan Posted September 14, 2018 Share Posted September 14, 2018 (edited) find the tooth count for you engine on line, pull the covers and check timing as mentioned - align the pulley marks and do a tooth count - belt marks will not be aligned.
