wheel bearing / grease fitting ????

Recommended Posts

is there any reason that one couldn't drill into the spindle (front or rear) with the bearings out and install a grease fitting? As long as the fitting isn' t deep enough to hit the bearing, and the hole's smooth, it seems like a great way to refresh the grease once in a while.... ???

I guess it's possible but there is a big chance that grease is going to come out true the seals and inside the brake drums or discs after a while.

I'm pretty sure that someone here has done this (Hatchpatrol member?) It works out real well, because there's a spacer between the bearings.

Hi noah.. yeah, i was thinking about aiming for the spacer.

Tolerance, I disagree as extra grease is designed to escape thru the split in the spring washer on the end of the axle.. thanks though :)
