GeneralDisorder
Yeah you can't "rebuild" the turbo. Not really. Because they must be dynamically balanced as a complete assembly at about 150,000 rpm. The "rebuild kit" you see for sale is laughable. This really can't be done in even a professional environment due to the lack of ability to balance it when done. GD
Sonicfrog
Point taken. I'm gonna go the CHRA route I think. Looks like the best solution.

Sonicfrog
UPDATE: The XT Limited is back on the road... YAY!!!!!!! I had ordered a CHRA from CARiD but when it arrived it was not the right one. This occurred even though I had called and gave them the VIN number as the pics of the cartridge didn't look quite right (the pics sellers use often don't match the product). So I ended up getting a complete turbo. Car is running great. So now I have a new turbo, new braided oil lines on the turbo side, and the banjo screens are removed. Thanks for all your help GeneralD. Sonicfrog
I think 11.8 is spec for the top banjo.

We use 5w40 Amsoil synthetic in all Subaru's that aren't under warranty. Anything over 400 crank HP we run 15w50. GD Which amsoil 5w40 do yall use? all I can find are for euros or diesel
GeneralDisorder
The oil doesn't know if it's in a European engine or a diesel engine for that matter. We use the 5w40 Euro on essentially every change we do. We use the 5w50 signature series or dominator 15w50 for high power engines.
