EA81 Gen1 Brat Temp gauge reads high when headlights are on

Recommended Posts

Hello! So I think I’ve got a bit of a grounding issue. When my extra manual-switch-driven fan turns on and I turn my headlights on, the gauge reads above half, if i shut them both off, the gauge drops immediately. (Well, a few seconds)

I cleaned the single terminal of the temp sensor. Didn’t really help? But now I’m looking for body grounds. Anyone have a photo with grounding locations? I’d love to clean them up. Or is it something else? On my DeLorean, it was because of resistance due to bad grounds that my temp gauge would read high. Cleaned up a lot of body grounds and it fixed it.

I also know my rad is running nice and cool.

ideas? Thanks!
