Ionstorm66
Anyone tried the Toyota high angle cv boots on a EA82? I've used them on newer Subarus before, and you just cut the lip of the boot as a spacer to make them fit. Looking at the measurement it should work for EA82's as well. https://www.offroadsolutions.com/products/high-angle-inner-cv-boot/
Ionstorm66
Asking because I scored a set of 90k mile factory front axles with sealed boots! Look how nice they are inside.
idosubaru
I’ve thought about it. I think there’s other companies too. Good OEM axles are still worthless, few will pay $600 for boots. $600 buys a lot of axles and boots.
1 Lucky Texan
I have read that proper 'clocking' (timing) of the joints at each end in relation to each other is important to maintain max angle capability. there are some special axles - HIRO ??? - or similar that claim to have more extension , maybe more deflection? but, I don't think they enjoy a great reputation. built like these; https://www.amazon.com/Monster-Axles-Polaris-Sportsman-Scrambler/dp/B07QM254C8 The plunge mechanism is moved from the inner joint to the shaft, eliminating issues that cause joints to bind and break
ferp420
even cheap silicone boots are 100x better than rubber boots i did all 4 for $100 the boots outlasted the axles and the axles lasted alot longer

They are $100 a pop, and don't take the same boots.
