TPS adjustment

Recommended Posts

I know there's a ton of threads discussing this topic, I just can't seem to figure out the search feature. Anyway, a few years ago my TPS decided to crap out. I couldn't find any EA82 Subies at the junk yard, so I found a TPS at autozone that was for a completely different vehicle but it was the same as our TPS. Only issue was it had a pigtail connected to it instead of a male connector. I cut the wires on it, and the female connector off my wire harness and soldered the wires together. Car fired right up and quit doing what it was before. Since then my mileage has dropped significantly and I think this might be the culprit. Looking at the book, it shows the TPS wiring unhooked when you're supposed to calibrate it. Can I still calibrate this one even though it's hard wired in? Thank you for suffering through this super long post.
