Water leaking on Pass side floor board

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have a 90 Subaur Legacy 2.2 non-turbo and it just recently started leaking at first a drip of water on the passenger side floorboard not the whole floor mat is wet. Is this the heater core? I was running the ac quite a bit recently as its been 100 the last few days. Thanks in advance for any help.

You didn't mention the sweet smell of ethylene Glycol or scum on the inside of your windows. That's good.

Blot up the moisture with a white paper towel and see if it clear or green.

You may just have a plugged condensation drain which can be reamed out from under the car. Maybe someone can provide an exact description and location. I haven't had that problem yet.

In addition to checking the condensate drain from the a/c, there is a drain hole under the hood at the corner near the windshield. If plugged with leaf or dirt debris, the water overflows down into the fresh air intake. The hole is barely big enough to thread a metal coat hanger into it.
