Throttle body/carb spacer gasket?

Recommended Posts

Well, ive got like everything going for rebuilding the carb on my 78, but aparently the gasket kit I got did not come with the throttle body space gasket! (the thick one that goes between the throttle and carb, between 2 other gaskets) The one that was on the carb is cracked, so I definatly need to replace it... Any one know who has them?

That's the big plastic spacer right? I've installed them without it.... not on a 78, but as I recall, the spacer is there basically so you can get the nuts on the mounting studs..... without it there isn't enough room. I just lifted the carb slightly, and threaded the nuts on, then tightened them down....

That's technically not a gasket, but a spacer - they aren't readily availible except from the dealership I would imagine. But you should be able to use any spacer from an EA71 or EA81.... same carb mounting.

i think you should run it, because alot of times its an insulator block to keep the carb a little cooler than the manifold. i have ran them wiouth it also, with no ill effects.

i would try the junkyard, or make one out of plastic, or very thick pressed cardboard.
