Please go back to the pirate4x4 forum, and remove the link to the USMB. Also, remove anything regarding a date. If you havent noticed... we are trying to KEEP THESE GUYS away from our trip. Ive already been yelled at once for even posting our trip there... the last thing we need is a bunch of *******s from the POR comming to our forum making a big stink out of things.

I would apreciate it if you could do that.

Thanks

Removed.....

So, okay.... IF you guys don't want them to know about it then why was it asked over there in the first place? As there are tons of sites out there that give either full descriptions of the trail or images of problem areas to avoid for a newbie on the 'Con. Pirate BB is not for the faint of heart.... ya need thick skin to live in the darkside.

From what I've seen/read it sounds like they would like to be there to help and watch you guys tackle as much as you can WITHOUT taking illegal bypasses. I guess It's hard for me to seperate my PBB life from this new to me USMB life. Two different types of people.... both good though.

I am sorry if I have screwed any plans for the trip up..... All I can say is that pictures HAVE to be post over there to prove that it was attempted/tackled by Subarus. Otherwise the small spat will never end.

Not sure how many of you know BUT I am transfering over from that Pirate style wheeling world into yours, Subarus. Yeah, I can get through a ton of crap in the Toyota but it's not as much fun on the smaller trails like it would be in a Subaru.

Again I do aplogize for what has been posted.... now removed from the PBB.

No hard feelings man... just wanted to keep things seperate right now. I started that thread there at the PBB, by mistake

I was looking for advise on running the trail. I live in Sacramento, about an hour from the 'con. I thought I could find

someone who would be willing to give me a small tour, or insite on what to expect when we arive. Much to my suprise

I got the complete opposite. I did, however, find a guy who lives less than a mile from me who is a jeeper but doesn't

have the whole POR ego. A real cool guy who has shown me around, and even took me to the 'con to see for myself.

I kinda dug myself a hole when i put that thread up. Seems like things got escalated too far, and ive been trying to put

it behind me. We will of course have pictures and video of the trip. I doubt I can run the trip, but I would love to show

up to lend a helping hand. Not sure if the people who are going to run the trail hate me cause of the post... but anyhow

no matter what... we will have something to show for it.

Thanks again.

My feelings aren't hurt.... I got thick skin and can handle a good amount of crap thrown at me.

I think it was a good idea to post on the PBB. Tons of insightfull folks with good aditudes towards other wheelers and newbie wheelers... YET... there are the few A-holes on there that seem to know all or be the best at what they do, or seem to think..... Those are the guys that have forgotten their past and the fun that can be had in a lesser modified/ different style rig.

I only post on there to get people a better deal on Toyota parts or speak what I know to be a fact... you find a lot of people talking out their asses just for their post count to rise.

In my past I've wheeled with Subarus, only with not actually behind the wheel. We took those poor subarus every where, sometimes I didn't know why they made it..... best instance: Just after high school we took my friends subaru down a muddy road, one hole had water half way up my door, he blasted through it, not as easily as I did but still made it through. Best part was that he had water well over the roof and it kept on going..from then on I did believe in the little cars. So, what did this story have to do with the PBB? Well, Sometimes people forget about the fun that they had in their past... Probably why I haven't really wheeled my Toyota in some time as I don't have as much fun.

No hard feelings.... I just need to get out with the Subaru once I get it!

Ive read the posts you have up regarding the subaru you plan on getting... and im not sure if I would abuse something that nice. You might want to get an old beater... they are more fun to off-road. The reason i off-road my subie is because its very interesting. Sure, i can go buy a jeep or a sami and go anywhere i want with lockers.... or I can do it with my subaru and get funny looks and stupid questions. I preffer the 2nd of the 2. Also, i have put aprox $3000 into my car to get it where it is today... thats including the price of the car itself. I know people who spend that much on just suspension alone. Not worth it to me.

Of course, we have our limitations... but you'll understand the 1st time you accomplish something in your subaru. You'll then officially be one of us.

Living in sacramento, i see TONS of super modified rock buggies and bronco's, jeeps, blazers, samis with lockers, bead locks, the whole 9 yards. My old neigbor bought an old CJ7 and modified it for rock crawling, he hangs out with a bunch of the people from the POR. I go on camping trips with him and i know the attitude they have. Not something i would want to be associated with. A friend of mine the other day told me that he is now a member of the POR and sounded all proud... i now have alittle less respect for him.

Oh, and incase your curious... here's a picture of my baby:

And a picture of my incredible articulation:

Well, I don't plan to abuse the subaru too much... perhaps play in a few rallys, take it camping, use it as a DD, and just have fun driving it around backroads in which I could take my Toyota but would be way more fun in a subaru.

Yeah, I have way too much money into my Toyota, enough to buy 2-3 more Subies at this ones price:) ....but I built up the Toy for it's intended uses. BUT a Subaru is much more sensable right now for me to have.... plus the wife wants to drive it which would mean even less money will go towards the little car.

Your Subaru looks sweet..... that first pic looks like it's from the PNW area, not near Sac. The second also looks like it might be in the PNW area too, almost looks like a place I've been before. Where are the pics from, location wise?

BTW, I'm here to put one big rump roast smile back onto my face when out in the woods ;)

The 1st picture was taken in Oregon, near Albany. I took a trip up to Washington to wheel with the Hatch Patrol, and stopped off in Oregon to see some of the oregon off-roading crew. The 2nd picture was taken here in California, on a trail called Fordyce. They call it the "mini-rubicon". Alot of fun... if your in a rock crawler :lol
