Need carb for EA-82

Recommended Posts

I am looking for a carb to put on an EA-82 that I pulled from a carburated '86 Subaru GL wagon. I have the stock carb, but am looking to simplify engine and improve performance to use in a hovercraft I am building.

Thanks for any advice; I don't know a lot about these engines.

A Weber DGV or DGAV would be very good choices if you want to stay with a carb.

DGV = Manual Choke

DGAV = Automatic Electric Choke

you can find the adaptor kit here

http://www.webercarbsdirect.com/subaru

it is pro'lly as cheap as a new hitachi, but more reliable and easier to rebuild

it should work on your engine though it does not say so because the bolt pattern is the same for those cars

Ok, I think I'm ready to weberize my 85 wagon. I took a look at the link above, and am confused. That webpage "Webercarbsdirect" says that that is a DGEV.

But the provider of the link talks about DG "A" V. I have a Haynes techbook "Weber Carburetor Manual", and I don't even see a DGEV.

I don't want to buy the wrong carb.

So is that really what I want? The DGEV from Webercarbsdirect? Is the bolt pattern really the same?

This is for a 1985 GL wagon, 5sp DR, EA82.

Thanks for any help

Pyro
