AC won't turn on. Just before it stopped working altogether it was working intermittently and when it didn't start I would simply keep pushing the ac button until it turned on. Now it won't go on no matter what I do.

Any advise is appreciated.

Hopefully the problem is in the power circuit for the AC rather than the compressor.

I would first check to see if the clutch is engaging on the compressor when you turn the switch on. If not, check for voltage getting to the magnetic clutch. I assume you have already checked the fuses for a problem.

my experience is that the compressor will not kick in if the refrigerant level/pressure is low. was it cooling good before it quit?. if it was luke cool then it may need a recharge to get the compressor to kick in. or i may be missing the point and there is a control or electric problem.
