d1camero
I have an r160 from a 1995 Impreza. I am just bead blasting it, and want to remove the pinion before getting it full of grit. How to the pinion come out? The pinion nut is off. thanks d1

I wouldn't do this just to clean it up, can't you tape off the nut area instead? When you go to put things back together you will have to check for backlash, the spacing between the teeth on the ring and pinion. This is done with shimms. (Don't take it apart.) NorthWet
Messing with the pinion can put you in a world of hurt. Listen to what blackbart said. It is not worth it. Much better to mask of the areas that you are concerned about.
