Guest Flowmastered87GL
Today I went to go pick up the Pug wheels from the marketplace... when I stopped to get some Ice cream (so hot today) I noticed something funny under the car. One of my $15 NAPA belts was stuck in my skid plate. It got all munched up somehow. It wasnt broken, but had stretched badly somehow. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/ohwell.gif ALT=":\"> Lifetime warranty my arse Oh ya, they were ABOUT a year old. I assume everyone will agree with me on this... I should take back the one GOOD belt and the bad one (purchased at the exact same time) and get 2 new ones from them. Thats my plan right now because I can complain to them about them being identical and when 1 goes the other cant be far behind. Looks like I am driving the BRAT tomorrow  For reference my car has the dual belts that go Crank, WP, Alt, PS so I wasnt stranded anywhere
Guest baccaruda
would there be any advantage to converting to the XT's single belt drive?
Guest Flowmastered87GL
I would NEVER do that.... Its the double belt design that kept me from being stranded. The double pully alternators are getting hard to find too. Every new one I have bought only has a single (had to convert mine for my 87) I probably lose a bit in HP, but the added reliablility and fail safe design (or pretty close) make it worth it. Guest Flowmastered87GL
I hate napa... They said there was no warranty on the belts (I swear they are lying) Since I was scared to only replace one belt... I figured get 2 new ones. $13 each?? Ummm no. Autozone had them for $4.50 each Thinking back I shoulda gone to schucks and got em for $4 each or whatever their low price guarantee would make them cost
