gbrand
burned or carboned valve maybe? Try the wet compression trick, squirt in a little oil , and if compression raises it is a ring issue not valves. Let us know how you make out/fix of not/etc
nipper
could be the beginngs of a head gasket issue too . Did you notice if the spark plug was cleaner then the other plugs? nipper
DerFahrer
Could be a burnt exhaust valve. Any bad exhaust leaks in the Y-pipe? Could be a headgasket. Have the coolant sniffed for exhaust hydrocarbons. Could be the rings, although I doubt it. It's rare for one ring to go bad. Do the oil-squirt test to be 100% sure, but I still think it's one of the other two...
monstaru
the spark plug was actually dirtier than the other plugs, which iirc would suggest an exhaust valve stick? there is a hiss from the y-pipe,do not know where though...could be further back though.... AlpineRaven
You'll need to do wet compression test before confirmation... Another question - does it burn oil? or blow large amount of smoke at cold startup? Cheers AP
