I have looked through some of the past posts regarding potential headgasket failure and still have some questions. I realize I do this at the risk of being slammed for asking a dumb question, but here goes...

I have a 2000 OBW with EJ252 engine (from the nameplate in the engine compartment) and 170K miles on it. I realize any car can blow a head gasket at any time...

My questions are:

1. Is this one of the engines with "a history of HG problems"?

2. Are there any preventive measures I can take to reduce the chances of blowing a head gasket?

3. Is there anything I can look for that may indicate a potential HG failure is imminent?

:horse: Thanks.
