Ddub
I am having problems shifting out of park in my 1994 Impreza L. When you start the car you are not able to depress the button on the shifter and therefore are not able to shift at all for some period of time (sometimes 15 min, sometimes 45). I was wondering if anyone has had similar issues and if so how to fix the problem?

Your park interlock system is having issues or your ignition switch interlock solenoid thingy on the shifter is having isuues. Will it shift with the override?. When you press the brake pedal and the button you should here a relay click. if not then check the brake light switch and the interlock relay

ericem
Do u have a little override button infront like a button around the shift so u dont need to have the engine on or hit the brake to shift? Its not on the shifter itself its around the casing(well on my legacy).
