kimkathan
This past weekend my 95 Legacy 2.2, started producing a few anomalies that I don't know even where to begin. At exactly the same time, when I started the car, the AT Oil Temp light blinks on and off a several times (book says that it may indicate that the AT control system is not working properly) and the check engine light comes on with code 0500 (speed sensor A malfunction) The AT fluid is fine, and is at the right level. The car shifts, but does feel like it doesn't shift into overdrive, but is not jerky. Are these two things related? Does anyone have any ideas where I should start (parts, location of problem?) Could one have caused the other, and I really only have one problem? Thanks
OB99W
A defective VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) can cause several problems at once. For more info, including location, see the following (page 5 in particular): http://www.endwrench.com/current/winter04/4eat1b.pdf
