I don't know as gas prices have hovered around $3 a few customers have said that next time they probably won't buy an AWD vehicle because they do not use it much in the snow, etc. I say the AWD is safer in the rain, black ice and other conditions, but there are cars out there that get better gas mileage, or are bigger in size.

Subaru is trying to go upscale, they do not ever have a 2 door in the line up. They will wait until the market is saturated like they did with the like 3 row small SUVs (Tribeca) and then they will finally jump on.

They have a small car picked to come over here if they need too, but its not an easy thing to do, its japanese made for the japanes market, and gas prices coming down people have short memories.

SUbaru has been going upscale, but the imprezza is the only car fully loaded with awd for under 20,000.00 us that will last in excess of 300,000 miles.
