How much money do you want to spend? 970subaru Posted December 5, 2006 Share Posted December 5, 2006 its actually 10 bolts, 4 into the frame, 4 on the rack, and 2 for the control arms. cheapest Ive seen a turbo crossmember go for in a while was 175. custom uppipe means no paying 175 for a turbo crossmember plus a turbo exhaust setup. not swapping crossmembers means not risking breaking steering rack bolts which frequently break. not saying its the best way, but it may be a cheaper way, and is a good alternative if you weld, just a different way to do it. 970subaru Posted December 10, 2006 Share Posted December 10, 2006 that has been done with legacy y-pipe but with the impreza header you can make one that bolts on. also you can notch the NA crossmember to imitate the depression in the turbo crossmember. never seen it done, but Im sure it has.
