Suspension options: '88 RX/II

Recommended Posts

Not a lot of options without spending massive$$$

A 5 lug conversion will put you in a position to have more choices for springs and front struts.

Rear struts - dunno what to tell you

Oh - and its only an RX/II if you are in Japan.

Murphy, the $500 87 T-Wag, had sagging phneumatic suspension. I swapped the airbags out with the more traditional spring / strut suspension. I used new Monroe struts, springs from an RX on the front, and GL wagon springs in the back. I hear 87 - 89 Honda Accord front springs will work on the back of the second gen GL series, if you want a slightly higher / stiffer ride, but I haven't tried it.... YET!

Welcome to the Board! ... Pics of your RX/II Please!!!

Thanks. I'll post pics as soon as I can get her over to where I live, and after a bit of intimate cleaning. She's in good shape physically and mechanically (got her to bark all four, stock, on asphalt in 4lo+diff loc!?!) but she's a Dirty Girl haha. May even have to use a spot of glaze on the paint, cuz it only qualifies as 'Arctic White' if Subaru meant 'Artic A Bear Peed Here White'. Weather hasn't been nice to cars this year in Colorado.
