EJ22 into a TR2?

Well, my dad might be picking up a TR2 relitivly soon, and we're not sure what shape the engine is in... i was wondering what sort of work (alot, i know) would be required to cram am EJ22 in there? yielding one hell of a fast 1954 vehicle ;)

Probably a little shy of width between the frame rails.

 

Not sure a 6 is a good idea (heavy as in "boat anchor"), maybe a "7" based engine, no trouble snagging 300HP out of a Saab (probably a bolt-in, though I'm not sure).

 

Rover alumnium V-8 (Buick 215)?

 

Twin cam Lotus (200-250HP without trouble)?

 

Mazda RX7?

 

I stuck a Buick V-6 in an MG once.

After posting I also thought about the 215. Had one in a 44 Jeep I butchered many, many years ago. Actually ran very well. Lots of fun until I rolled it one afternoon duck hunting. That was like 35 years ago and I've never even sat in a Jeep since then. I don't think the "6" engine is all that much heavier then what you now have but what do I know. Good friend had a GT6 and another a TR2. Always liked the former better. Another friend had a worked over AH 3000. Now that was a real car.
