newbie for this side and have question about foresters

  • 2 weeks later...

I had the same problem with my 1998 Forester.

I tried searching the web and I can't find the exact page that pointed to the fix, but if memory serves correctly, there is a part number for the correct wheel bearing out of Subaru Canada. This part is a different bearing type than the stock Forester bearing.

Hey -- found a link:

I would recommend printing this out and bringing it in to your auto mechanic shop as they might not even be aware of the correct fix. I went through two wheel bearing jobs (the first one only lasted 7,000 miles!!) before getting the right fix.

Hope this helps.

Chris
