my 04 outback sport needs more, well...sport

Recommended Posts

i just got a 04 outback sport and i need some power tips. first off im not looking to take an STi off the line. (or a wrx for that matter) im just looking to see what small (reliable) mods will give me some extra boost. in-town and freeway driving are fine but on my very frequent trips to mt hood it seems to lagg on the uphill seections. as for the car it has a 5 speed and an ej25. if nothing else i just need a good recomendation for intake/muffler combo

Yeah, I heard the updated fuel maps are good for a bit of power and MPG. I think Zap reviewed one awhile back.

Headers will help, but the general consensus around here is to stay away from the Borlas. They are equal-length and sound Honda-esque. And they have a propensity to crack out. Many a horror story has been told...

Erm....I think you'll find that the largest portion of cracked Borla's are replicas.

Look to cobbtuning.com maybe ?

More like the opposite, and the cobb headers are way over priced. From what I've been reading it was only the early borlas that cracked. The e-bay stuff is about half the price of the real thing.

I have also heard that the OBX and Cobb headers are made by the same place, just sold at different prices.

A 2.25"catback exhaust/muffler, CAI, borla header or equal length header, Perfect power SMT-6, Perrin crank pulley.

I did all those above cruise up the passes in my heavy OBW...no problem...!

Yeah, you have double port exhaust, i had single port
