Convert EA82 to EA82T ????

You were trying to post in the "Repair Manual", that is a submit for aproval situation. This would be better posted in the "Old Gen" forum, it will probably get moved for you shortly.

 

The consense will probably be that it is more work then it is worth. Along with needing the comp, you would need to swap exhaust and cross member. Tim

You'd be better off swapping parts the other way. Take the good stuff off you're carbed one and put them into the Gl-10.

 

But to do the swap you'd need to

 

Swap the entire engine(Carbed ones have higher compression pistons)Or if you want to use the High comp low end, at least swap the heads and intake.

 

Swap the front crossmember. The Carb one wil not leave you room for the turbo exhaust.

 

Strip the harness and ECU out of the Turbo car, strip it down, and install it in the Carbed car.

 

And lastly install the MPFI pump in the Carbed car.

 

IIRC there may be a few other little problems but that is the jist of it.

 

Easier to do up the GL-10 ey?

Hmm.

 

The reason i was asking....

 

I found a 1989 GL-10 Turbo on CL for 150 bucks, the motor is bad and that seems to be the only problem. But it sounds like it will be more work than its worth to get my EA82 in the Buggyroo turboed.

You can use the carbbed block with the turbo heads and turbo junk to make alittle more low end power. Intercooling and propper tuning is a must.

 

Also, I believe the fuel lines in the turbo car are going to be higher pressure than the carbbed, so you would need to swap the lines as well.

 

If the motor is bad, just get a complete gasket kit from felpro. Tear it down and rebuild using your carbbed block. Keep the boos low and you should have alot of fun.
