Guest andywatson
I removed my factory radio and the separate CD player and installed an aftermarket stereo. Does anyone know where I might get one of those little compartments that fits in the hole left by the CD player? My parents' legacy has one because their car came with the basic stereo and no CD player. I don't have any junkyards nearby, so I'm looking for something I can order online. Thanks. Guest EOppegaard
You could make one if you are a bit crafty. If you took a plastic box, and just mounted a door on the front, presto. If you do not want to try the joe-handyman approach, I would just go and talk to you local subaru $$$ dealer. they would probably be able to order you the part. Guest ShawnW
Find a junkyard....even a Toyota or other asian import car one would probably work.

Guest yohy
andywatson, what year/model did the cd player come out of? If you are interested in parting with it, send me an email. I am looking for one to go in a '97 L Sedan.
Guest subyluvr2212
Okay, at least for my 1991 Legacy, the stereo space is a total of 2.5 DIN (I don't know exactly what this terminology refers to, just stay with me )... The radio-only, without cassette, takes up 1 DIN, and the compartment you speak of takes up the other 1.5 DIN. If someone knows where to find one of these, I'm interested If you have a radio with cassette, that unit takes up 1.5 DIN, and the compartment occupies the remaining 1 DIN. I have an extra one of these sitting around, get my email from my profile if this is what you want...
