Like I said in my registration question, I'm a professional mechanic who has long since figured out the the crazies on forums have and will spend countless hours learning, improving, modifying, sorting, simplifying, and most importanly, sharing their knowledge with people who ask. I'm experienced in many different product lines, engine/driveline configurations and have been doing so for over forty years. What this has done is give me an extraordinary encapsulation of just how much is out there about which I have *NO* clue! So.....here I is, asking for help, and if I can share anything, AWESOME. Thre '08 Impreza I listed is actually my daughter's, but I get to work on it. I previously had a '98 Legacy GT 5 speed that I absolutely loved, and I had an '86 GL wagon that I put 200K on it before it rusted away to nothing. Funny that.......deluxe power everything, worked PERFECTLY, no squeaks or rattles, and the underneath just vanished into a puddle of rust flakes. I have worked on Subies on and off for years and genuinely like 'em. So....I'm just about to swap out an auto transaxle in a '99 Forester and I checked y'all out for tips.
