  1. my legacy died again.

    I had a 98 2.5L legacy that blew a headgasket so I had a cheap EJ20 engine put in that has rod bearing problems 30k later. I want to put an EJ22 in my car and there are several at the auto recycler here in portland. What should I look for when checking out these engines? Also, what kind of compression should be expected for a 98 EJ22 engine? I am weary of doing this as you never know the history of the engine but I can't afford 3000 dollars for a shop to put in another EJ25. I figured I could buy the assembly and just unbolt my engine and put this one in. Thanks so much.
