I was looking at the pictures of that awesome junkyard in AZ that has been making the rounds on various forums, and saw a picture of a Subaru Star (aka 1100?). I was wondering how rare these are in North America? I'm thinking I remember seeing some of these very early cars in the mid eighties out west when I was younger... I'd love to put a more modern Suby drivetrain into one! Even though I'm more in to German cars, VWs and BMWs, I'm still a big fan of Subarus, as my family had a '78 4WD wagon that we loved until it rusted into oblivion. How related are these to the one my family had? This image seems to suggest more than I thought... Anyway, I'd like any info about the Star/early series coupe or how to locate one (the one from the picture I saw is likely crushed by now), thanks!

Oh damn, well, I woudn't hack up a car that rare! One of you guys in the SW better get on the case of this car then! I don't quite have the resources until my house sells. Read about this remarkable junkyard on the thread from vwvortex.com! I can only assume that it contains or contained some of the last/best examples of some cars in North America, if not the world.

Somebody save me!
I don't know if they are all crushed, or what cars were moved, or what...
