  1. Hello everyone! My name is John and I'm a new member that was pointed in this direction by a very nice guy with a lot of Subaru's in his driveway. I've been a Subaru guy since 98' when I bought my Outback which has been the best car I ever owned! Long story here but... I have friend who lives in Golden that I visit every few weeks, and for the last several years his neighbor has always had all these cool interesting Subaru's sitting in his driveway. Well this morning I went to go start my car and it wouldn't start. This really nice guy comes out of his house with coffee in hand and says need some help? Since I know nothing about mechanics I happily replied yes. He introduced himself and popped my hood open to see what's going on. I told him I had a check engine light on for awhile and he walked over to his much newer Outback and pulled out a code scanning tool! I was shocked to say the least. He hooked it up a pulled out a cam sensor code. Then stated I needed a new cam sensor, and asked if I wanted a ride to the Subaru dealership to get one. Of course I take him up on his offer and we take his much nicer Outback to the dealership. When we get to the parts office everyone there knows him and calls him by name. Even gave me his discount as his brother runs a shop. Basically got the sensor at cost! So as I'm sitting here using his computer to write this and check out this community he is out there putting in my new cam sensor and a new air filter for me too. I always knew the Subaru community was good group of people but this was just shocking. A VERY VERY big thank you to Keith with the old lifted sedan which I get to drive here in a few minutes and several other Subaru's in his driveway. I know I will be on here a lot now that I know all Subaru genius's are on here. John Briggs
