  1. If I can plan this right, it's still going to take a couple of years for the project to be completed. The mods won't even really start untill I can decide how exactly I'm going to do this. The only way I think I'm going to be able to keep 4x4 true is getting a custom transmission built. I'm planning on lifting it, so thats not a big deal. I don't really want to rally it, but it is an option I'm still keeping out there. The suspention's going to be pretty tricky and most of all, time consuming, considering it's all gonna have to be custom for the most part. Can't really use an EA series because yeah, it's gonna blow up. So you all think I should put in the matching tranny? It would make sense, but do you think it's going to be close enough to a 4x4 transmission for me?
  2. I would like to put an STI engine in my '84 scoob. The hardest part to figure out is what type of gearbox I should use since I would like to keep it a 4x4. I know using a conversion plate to the tranny isn't going to be sufficient by any means since the EA81's gearbox has no where the capabilities to handle that HP in from the EJ257. If anyone has some thoughts, I would greatly appreciate it.
