  1. opinion needed... what your favorite transmission for a 97 2.2 legacy wagon., and why

    one wheel posted a topic in Subaru Retrofitting
    well Im thinking that i loved the tranny in my friends 99 outback impreza sport and i thought that car had a 2.2l so thats my vote... any pros and cons to this tranny. will i have issues with an tranny from a 2.5.. so ive lost 4th gear 3rd is not great and first second making a mild grinding noise.. the car is a 97 legacy awd 170 k miles 5speed manual. any advice on cable/ hydro clutch and best years to use is also helpfull. thank you, and I hope to be able to give back to this forum in the years to come. this is my third subaru and ive had good luck with them thus far. thanks again Darex
