  1. I've been looking for ways to upgrade my 1979 Brat and the first thing on my list is engine and transmission. I would really like to drop an EJ22 with a 5 speed in there but as I have heard that requires notching the frame rails and that makes me a bit uncomfortable. I had and idea that if you could build a frame and install an EJ22 with a 5 speed and the suspension from an impreza. Then you could just drop the brat body on top and bolt it on. Sounds like a much easier and less risky approach to me but I would like to get some opinions.
  2. I looked up the BMW lights and if it's possible to fit those in then that would be awesome. Do you know of anyone who has done that conversion? I did some more looking and found these. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/79-SUBARU-BRAT-HALO-XENON-EURO-HEADLIGHT-CONVERSION-/120596133590 http://www.streetbeatcustoms.com/Spec_D-Tuning/Projection-Lights/Universal-Spec_D-Tuning-Round-Projector-Headlights-_-with-H4-Bulbs-_-LHP_5RNDJM/773203/ What do you think?
  3. I've been looking to upgrade the headlights on my brat but I am unsure what exactly I will need to get the job done. What I want to do is make it more like a modern headlight where I have the the headlight assembly and a replaceable bulb. I found some that might work but I don't know if they will work for a 4 headlight setup. http://www.partstrain.com/store/details/Subaru/Brat/Vision_X/Headlight/1979/DL/4_Cyl_1-dot-6L/VSXVX-7RD.html I would appreciate anyones opinion.
