Hey guys I just bought a 97 Subaru at an auction knowing that it was from out of California. The car was originally from Nebraska where smog regulations don't exist. And it has an EJ22 which has a flang for a EGR on the intake manifold but has no egr components and i have no idea how to install the egr and all the valves, tubes, ...etc and need to pass smog any tips on how to go about this. I recently went to the junk yard and found a 96 outback with same EJ22 and everything so I took the EGR valve and all other tubes, pipes and regulators with it. This is before knowing i had no EGR. My smog failed. THE HYDROCARBONS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE UNDER 100 MINE IS AT 500 AND MY (CO) IS SUPPOSED TO BE AT 1.00 AND ITS AT 8.0. I'm not familiar with smogs and what would cause high readings. So if anyone could give me some help I would appreciate it.
