Hello all- not much to tell about me at this point. I don't currently own a Subaru, but having just moved to the Bend area from AZ this year, I've been jonesing for a snow car. I really like the newer Subies, but am wanting to go cheap for this third vehicle. I came across an '86 GL hatchback nearby cheap, but afraid it's a bit more of a project than I want to tackle. When I was in high school, my dad bought a new '84 4x4 wagon, and then later owned a Brat, so that experience is kinda what sparked my interest in the now "vintage" Subarus. So ideally, I'd LOVE to find an '84 (ish) wagon (4x4 of course) to have as a local snow car/toy. I'm still tempted to try and buy that '86 GL HB. It needs some carb work and I'm told that a shift linkage going into trans broke. Guy had been driving it recently and was only asking $400 for it... Anyway, I'll probably be more of a lurker than a poster, as I've never owned or worked on a Ru as of yet, so my knowledge is nil. If anyone knows of a decent wagon for sale, lemme know!
