Hello,
I remember as a kid my uncle's early seventies green Subaru wagon. I learned to drive a manual transmission using my Dad's 1979 GL 4x4 Wagon and I owned a 1983 GL-10 4x4 Wagon before foolishly selling it. Living in Colorado, I have always thought Subarus were great for the weather here and I hope to own another sometime. I think they are neat cars and would like to own an Outback wagon but from what I have gathered from the internet, the late '90s early 2000's models that would be in my price range seem to have a significant engine reliability problem (head gaskets).

Thanks, I will check the forums to see what I can learn about the older Outbacks and what to look for in a used one.
I am in Colorado Springs. See lots of Subarus around here, unfortunately not many of the 80's models seem to be on the road here anymore.
