    My first Subaru - 2000 OB Ltd. I've migrated from Volvos (current backup has 283k and going strong). The OB had 106k at purchase two months ago. Nice car. I checked out the head gasket issue - no sign of problems at inspection, although the expansion tank level is down a little after 4500 miles. Coolant conditioner wasn't done until 93k per the sticker (or does this mean it was last done then since you have to do it with each coolant flush?). Also, there is a slight tick intermittently when warming up. Not there at all some days, goes away after a few minutes otherwise. From past experience, sounds like a lifter. Am considering a flush prior to next oil change. So, can I get this thing to outlast my Volvo?
