Hey everyone, I'm glad to have found this forum!
I've recently had a great opportunity to get a 78 Brat for possibly welding together a floorpan for a guys Ranchero, as soon as I get done with Auto Body college, in about 2 weeks, and then after that saving a few hundred to pay the guy if there isn't enough time to do the floorpan. ANYwho...I'm full-on excited to finally get a 1st gen Brat.
I'd really like to gather as much information as far as diagrams, handbooks, service manuals and such. either free, printable pdf's, or links to good quality repair books for everything from tuning, electrical, mechanical, repairs etc.
Does anyone out there have any stockpiles of files and images for anything regarding the 1st Gen Brats? For instance I've got a folder dedicated to service manuals and tuning guides, etc, for the AE86 corolla, my other favorite 4-wheeled transportation device.
I'd love to organize and zip-file together a Brat-Bible for myself and anyone interested. I'd definitely take that task on.
Any help here would be great!
Nice to meet all of you, and I admire anyone who thinks (like I do) that the brats are beautiful vehicles.
Has This been created yet? I also recently got a 79 brat, and I need a service manual. I have to say this forum is severely lacking on reliable information and organization.

did you ever find a manual? I am looking for a general Maintenence Manual for my 79. and can't find anything.

Nice base to work with. Pretty sure I have the gas pedal. My old 79 was the same colors as yours. It's still going out east somewhere.
I'll message you about the pedal, but I am wondering, is it as simple as switching out the pedal or will I have to take out the hole pedal assembly?

Color ? Looks like a blue interior but just want to be sure.
I've got some seats that might help you out. I'm in CT. Stop on over. Lol Let me get to them and take some pics and entertain offers.

Nice! Here is a pic of my 79' hauling some barrels for scenery in a High School One Acts night. Local winery generously loaned them to us if we could transport them. I got the Brat the day before this picture was taken.

Hello!
I recently acquired a 79 BRAT from my brother, and it runs great with a minor exhaust leak. The car itself is in pretty rough condition right now, missing some parts... and I am having some difficulty finding a good source for parts. I am specifically looking for:
Driver and Passenger Seats................ (Mine are ratty and extremely uncomfortable)
Drivers Side Mirror........................ (I have the mount but the actual mirror has either been broken or fallen off)
Drivers Side Door handle..................(Passenger's is in place but doesn't work)
Complete Dash ................(or cover, the dash is very cracked)
Accelerator Pedal .............(The rubber/plastic part is missing so it is just a metal arm)
Tailgate .............................(Worst rust on the car is along the base of the tailgate, completely rusted through)
Jumpseats? ......................(missing these, deciding if I want them)
As well as some decorative paneling on the exterior. There could be more missing that I don't recognize.

Did you ever digitize this? If not I will pay you to post a digital copy. not full price for the manual but enough to cause incentive. I REALLY need this info.
