  1. Thanks, its definitely an EJ251. An EJ252 would give me 6kw more so I will have a look at one of them. Is there any point in fiddling with a EJ252 while it is out of the car, cam timing or cams? I can do that sort of work myself.
  2. I've done EA82 into a brumby (big mistake) and all sorts of datsun engine swaps because they all more or less were easy to do. My 02 outback is starting to drink oil and it misses. I can't work out from Wikipedia if it is an EJ251 or EJ253. Some websites say it has 116KW and some say 123KW. Which one is it? Can you easily swap in a series 4 EJ25? (the one with about 132kw) I don't even know WTF the code is for them. Or is that a bad idea? I don't want a turbo because then I need an engineers certificate. Is there a JDM version better than the one we got in australia? I don't want massive power, I've had my fun with a WRX with an STI V3 motor before. Thanks for any direction I can get. Rob
