  1. I need some additional info, and I would like to hear people's opinions on the swap I am thinking of doing. First, I have a 1990 EA82 turbo wagon with a full time Automatic transmition. This car had a Ujoint go bad and it broke the rear tail housing on the automatic, and would also need a new drive line. We have a parts car, a 1991 EA82 with a 5 speed MT, with the push button 4wd on the shifter. Both cars a 4x4, and both are right here at my house. Instead of fixing the automatic I was thinking of swaping in the 5MT from the other car. I've read Surrealmirage's writeup on his swap, and I've browsed over Legacy Central's site. Both answered most of my qustions, and are great places for information, thanks. But Will I have any problems if I keep the Turbo's engine ECU in the car and use the MT. It looks like I will need to modify it to think it is in Neutral, and that is no problem. Is there anything else? And I want to hear people's opinions if it is a worth while swap (I don't like to drive Automatics!!) Also I have done 2 other AT to MT swaps on a Nissan Skyline, and a Laural, so I am familiar with the process, just not the details with these Subarus. Thanks
