I have a 1600 gl in my drive way that was planning on just getting rid of but the whole time i wanted to just swap in a EJ20/EJ22 if it was possible. I've read the guide but it seems like its gone and disappeared now.

 

Anyone know how difficult it is to wire this bad boy up? Is it possible to swap in the EJ20 with the tranny and all or do you have to use an old tranny.

 

Has anyone ever though of doing like a small block chevy or small 4 cyl toyota motor?

That's the ej22 swap thread. Its the same for the ej20, just make sure that the wiring harness matches the engine. Numbchux does the wiring swaps. When doing the swap, use a 5 speed from an ea82 (85-89 4wd cars) or try to find an rx transmission or use a legacy 5 speed. Have fun.
