So I have been learning that finding Gen1 Brat struts are very hard to find.  I did see in an earlier thread that someone suggested rebuilding them (having someone do this).

 

Has anyone done this?

 

The weather is warming up, and my first task is replacing the rear shocks , and hopefully getting to the front struts...

 

 

 

So far I have been unable to find replacement struts or cartridges for rebuilding the old struts.  I was able to find some 2wd cartridges on ebay that were close enough to make work with spacers underneath.  Rebuilding is very simple as long as the housing is in good shape.  Finding parts to rebuild or replace is the part that is no fun.  If you find anything I would love to know.  It would be nice to have the right stuff for next time.

 

What are you using for rear shocks, and where did you find them?

Now that I double checked on the rear shocks, they are for gen 2 brats...
