I have a legacy GTB wagon that has thrown a transmission, age I think, just driving along, stopped at lights and the idle felt like it was in neutral, although in drive, when I accelerated it took a moment to move then an awful noise for a moment then normal driving ? drove straight to mechanic, he was about to take it for a drive... no reverse.

are the autos transferrable throughout the subaru range, outback, impreza etc?

looking for options as legacies are rare in Oz.

as far as i know the ej series gearbox's all interchange and i do know that a legecy box will go into a wrx so i would think it would go the other way as well
