August 17, 200520 yr The timing got straightened out and she passed the state inspection! Legal for another year! Pardon my frustration but we have replaced so far due to failure: battery battery cable windshield wipers alternator starter transmission shocks struts right front wheel bearings - twice all axles front right - twice front calipers brake pads gas tank was pulled for a leak thermostat ADS tailgate pull horn lights carburator engine distributor distributor cap plugs plug wires vacuum lines ball joints seats dash interior parts badges (need to put on) rims and tires The sunroof leaks but that will wait a little bit.
August 18, 200520 yr On the bright side, you pretty much have a new car:grin:. Congratulations, it must have felt awesome to get that paper that says PASSED!!!
August 18, 200520 yr badges Badges? Badges? We don't need no steenkin' badges! Sorry... I couldn't help myself. Seriously, though. You need the badges to pass inspection? I'm glad we only have an emissions test here.
August 18, 200520 yr Sheesh!!! That list will certainly make my wife feel better about HER car! Congrats!
August 18, 200520 yr Thats great that the engine is listed as one part. Congrats on passing inspection, I have yet to accomplish that.
August 19, 200520 yr Author Thanks everyone! It was a great feeling! It was only possible with the solid information, encouragement and parts acquired from members here on the board. I actually got to the show last night. We took the Brat and the Baja... we were the only Subies there Premium gas is $2.87... the Baja will have a little nap. So add another vintage Subie to the daily driver list, I drove her to work today and I'll be driving it until the salt trucks roll. (or when it's a zillion degrees outside... no A/C). Now we can concentrate on getting the '50 Ford F-1 tweaked out. She'll be registered tomorrow. Then the '86 will get her turn... she's stripped and primed.
